LifeAct Actin Marker and Chromobodies®: New Tools for Visualization of Dynamic Cellular Processes

The actin cytoskeleton in eukaryotes is essential to many important cellular processes, such as cell division, neuronal polarization and cell migration. Additionally, one of the major challenges in early drug discovery is the understanding of cellular processes, in response to external stimuli.

In this webinar, you will learn more about the novel actin marker “LifeAct” as well as Chromobodies®, a new format of intracellular functional antibodies. LifeAct visualizes F-actin within fixed and living cells without compromising cellular processes, such as speed of dendritic cells, or neuronal polarization. Chromobodies® are used to target and trace antigens for High-Content Analysis (HCA) in living cells.

Dr. Julia Riedl, ibidi GmbH

Julia Riedl received her PhD at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biochemistry, Martinsried, in the group of Dr. Wedlich-Söldner. Since 2010, Julia has been working in the R & D department of ibidi. Her work on LifeAct, as an actin marker, (published in Nature Methods) was the basis for the development of LifeAct products at ibidi, GmbH.

Dr. Kourosh Zolghadr, ChromoTek GmbH

Kourosh Zolghadr studied Biology at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich . During his PhD thesis he worked on the principle development of the Chromobody®-Technology (published in Nature Methods). In 2008, he was one of the co-founders of ChromoTek GmbH where he is now head of Research and Development. He is currently working on the development of Chromobodies® for High Content Assays in living cells.
